On February 13th, Astronomy Ireland are hosting a lecture titled ‘Robots in Space’, where spacecraft engineer Dr. Leah-Nani S. Alconel of Imperial College London will talk about her work. Details on Astronomy.ie.

On the same day but in a different venue is the first in a series of interesting physics talks aimed at the general public. UCD School of Physics has teamed up with the Royal Dublin Society to bring some of the world’s leading physicists to speak in Dublin about the latest developments in their fields of research. The Irish Skeptics Society will hold their February lecture on March 8th (hey, who are we to judge?).  Síle Lane, campaigns manager of the UK’s Sense about Science, will discuss scientific claims and the media.
